Calendar of the Soul

Verses by Rudolf Steiner
English Translations by Tom Mellett

Thirty Sixth Week / Seventeenth Week

Here is the next pair of Calendar of the Soul verses for this week (#36) and its polar opposite (#17). Note how the verses have diverged from the lemniscate's crossing point at Michaelmas, (which is Verse #26 with Polar verse #27). We are moving towards Christmas (#38), which occurs right after the Winter Solstice and marks the bottom of the lemniscate. (St. John's Tide marks the top).

For the Easter 2000 to Holy Saturday 2001 cycle:
This week's verse (#36) has dates of: December 8 - 14
The polar verse (#17) corresponds to the week: July 28 - August 3

[Note: The dates with the verses are the original dates given by Steiner.]

J'.    36. Woche    (8. - 14. Dezember)
In meines Wesens Tiefen spricht
Zur Offenbarung draengend
Geheimnisvoll das Weltenwort:

Erfuelle deine Arbeit Ziele
Mit meinem Geisteslichte,
Zu opfern dich durch mich.

J'.    36th week:    (December 8 - 14)
In the depths of my being,
full of mystery,
surging toward revelation,
the Cosmic Word speaks:

"Fulfill the goals of your work
with my spirit light
to sacrifice yourself through me."

Q.    17. Woche    (28. Juli - 3. August)
Es spricht das Weltenwort,
Das ich durch Sinnestore
In Seelengruende durfte fuehren:

Erfuelle deine Geistestiefen
Mit meinen Weltenweiten,
Zu finden einstens mich in dir.

Q.    17th week:    (July 28 - August 3)
I may now lead the Cosmic Word
through the gateways of my senses
into the foundations of my soul.
It speaks:

"Let my cosmic majesty
fill the depths of your spirit
so that one day soon
you may discover
myself in you."
